Can you believe it’s Spring already? Winter always seems as if it will never end, and then one day, the grass is getting green again! After months of darkness and cold, the warm sun and blooming flowers are such a welcome sight. It seems that the whole world is ready for bright colors again after the dark months of winter. We exchange our dark, heavy coats for light, bright cardigans and light jackets; so why would we continue to wear our dark winter makeup? Let’s talk Spring makeup trends!

A new season means new makeup shades! Here are 4 makeup pairings that are perfect for Spring. www.heathershefbeauty.com

Deep Crease Eyeshadow Technique

Have you ever done something and didn’t realize there was a name for it? I know I’ve done that at least a few times. This deep crease eyeshadow technique is one of those times. I learned how to do this technique pretty early on in my makeup ‘journey’ a few years ago. I had no idea it was an actual technique, though! Ha! So now I feel extra fancy when I demonstrate it on myself. It’s for sure my favorite method of putting on eyeshadow. Why do I love it so much? A few reasons– it’s easy to take it from day to night and it makes my eyes look bigger and emphasizes their shape.

Eyeshadow Techniques: The Two Tone

The Two Tone eyeshadow technique sounds a bit like a band from the 1980’s, don’t you think? And even though I’ve been playing with eyeshadows professionally for almost 2 years now (Yes, that’s part of my job. It’s pretty awesome. Here’s 10 reasons you should join me!), I haven’t experimented much with this eyeshadow look for some reason. Thanks to this blog series, I can now say that this is a really fun eyeshadow look to play with!

The Two Tone Eyeshadow technique lets you add a fun pop of color to a neutral eyeshadow look! Bonus-it's easy!

Gorgeous Valentine’s Day Makeup

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! This gorgeous Valentine’s Day makeup look is perfect for a date night out or staying in! The soft pinks are really flattering on just about everyone. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? I have mixed feelings on the holiday as a whole. I didn’t really celebrate it until I got married, and even now we don’t put a lot of emphasis on the holiday. At the very least, I always try to glam myself up for my husband on the big day. Read on to see how I got this look!

Eyeshadow Techniques: The Halo

Now that we’ve mastered The Wash and The Windshield Wiper eyeshadow techniques, we can move on to The Halo Eyeshadow Technique! (Missed one of the other tutorials? I’ve linked them at the end of this post!)

The Halo is our last foundational eyeshadow technique. Once you’ve mastered it, you can move on to more complicated eyeshadow looks and really start to play and have fun!
